How Montana Title Assistance Works, Step by Step

Titling and registering a vehicle in Montana can involve several forms, signatures, and offices. Our job is to handle that paperwork for you. Here's what happens from the moment you order until your documents arrive.

Step 1: Choose the service that matches your vehicle

We offer separate services for cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans; RVs and motorhomes; luxury motorhomes; travel trailers and fifth wheels; utility, cargo, boat, and equipment trailers; motorcycles, dirt bikes, ATVs, and UTVs; and exotic and high-value vehicles. Each one has a single all-inclusive price that covers our service fee plus the government fees and taxes that vehicle type involves. You can compare them all on our pricing page.

If you'd like your vehicle owned by a Montana LLC, you can also add our optional LLC formation service.

Step 2: We contact you for your details

After checkout, we reach out to collect information about your vehicle and its ownership history. We review what you have and send you a document checklist for your situation, so you know exactly what's needed and nothing is missed.

Step 3: You send your documents

We'll give you mailing instructions for any original documents, such as your current title. Please send originals only to the address in those instructions, and keep copies for your records. You cover the cost of mailing your paperwork to us.

Step 4: We prepare and coordinate your paperwork

We prepare your title and registration paperwork and coordinate with independent Montana registration providers to get it submitted. If something needs fixing, such as a missing signature or a lien that hasn't been released, we help you sort it out.

Step 5: Status updates along the way

We keep you updated as your paperwork moves through the process. Processing times depend on your vehicle, how complete your documents are, and the office handling the application, so contact us anytime for a current estimate.

Step 6: Your documents and plates are delivered

Once your title and registration are issued, we ship your completed documents and plates to the address you confirm in your order instructions. Return shipping is included in your price.

What if you can't help with my vehicle?

If we find that we can't assist with your vehicle, you'll get 100% of your payment back.

Your price is one all-inclusive payment. It covers our service fee plus the government fees, taxes, and other charges needed to complete your paperwork, including return shipping of your documents and plates. No hidden costs, no surprise add-ons. Montana Title Assistance is an independent business, not a government agency, and we don't provide legal or tax advice. Vehicle owners remain responsible for ongoing registration renewals and insurance requirements in the state where the vehicle is kept or used.
